Education officials in New York have released a report showing that the majority of students who leave high school in the state are not college ready according to their scores on the state's Regent Exams. As reported in the NY times article "Most New York Students Are Not College-Ready" only 23% of high school students who graduate in New York City are college ready. This does not bode well for President Obama's goal of sharply increasing the college graduation rate in the United States.
