Many college graduates are unable to find jobs that are the beginning of a career path. With the poor economy their careers are on hold as they are unable to find jobs related to their desired career. As reported in the NY Times article, "Career Limbo: Waiting It Out" these recent graduates are waiting for the economy to turn around before seeking a job in their desired school. Research by Till Von Wachter, Phil Oreopoulos and Andrew Heisz, "Short- and Long-Term Career Effects of Graduating in a Recession" has shown that the negative effects on wages of graduating in a recession persist after the recession has ended.
